Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Sampling & Monitoring:
- Develop and implement microbiological sampling plans for raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products.
- Create and execute environmental sampling plans based on priority zones.
- Conduct monthly trend analyses and reporting for environmental monitoring and finished product results.
Laboratory Operations:
- Organize and oversee all microanalytical and administrative lab work, ensuring timely documentation in SAP and other relevant systems.
- Maintain lab safety standards and report any unsafe conditions, behaviors, or HSE incidents.
- Ensure adherence to 5S and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) within the microbiology lab.
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Monitor and execute elements of the internal control plan.
- Provide professional QA support in HACCP studies, particularly regarding microbiological hazards.
- Perform “comparison of results” tests when required.
- Prepare microbiological results for Certificate of Analysis (COA) generation.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Supervise and train lab technicians, ensuring high-quality performance and development.
- Maintain strong communication with Production Managers to provide feedback on plant sanitation and hygiene-related issues.
Inventory & Resource Management:
- Manage inventory of media, lab tools, and other microbiological supplies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a microbiology lab, preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GLP, and environmental monitoring.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
