Job Summary We are seeking a Technical Safety (Process Safety) Engineer to join the Loss Prevention organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization within the company. We provide both day-today in-field occupational and process safety support to This Company operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function. Our field offices are located in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib. Through these offices, LP provides its services to all This Company facilities and departments that are located throughout the Kingdom. Your primary role as a Technical Safety Engineer is to work with key stakeholder organizations to provide technical guidance on facility design requirements pertaining to fire prevention and process safety engineering areas, including but not limited to firewater systems, fireproofing, emergency shutdown systems, drainage systems, tank designs, electrical classifications, pipeline design factors, equipment access and layout, spacing, risk areas, etc. Responsibilities: Provide technical guidance and formulate procedures for all company divisions regarding fire prevention and process safety engineering, encompassing facilities design and relevant operational requisites. This includes adherence to both company and international standards such as NFPA and API.Conduct thorough reviews of new projects to ensure alignment with company and international engineering standards. Represent the organization during project proposal meetings and offer continuous guidance through design, construction, and commissioning phases.Extend company-wide technical support during design-related evaluations of This Company facilities. This involves assessing the adequacy of design, operations, and maintenance procedures.Analyze both industry-wide and This Company-specific fire incidents and process safety events. Determine root causes and assess whether updates to company standards or other measures are necessary. Propose remedial actions as appropriate.Initiate and actively engage in studies aimed at resolving specific challenges that lie beyond currently available technological solutions.Develop comprehensive training programs focusing on process safety and fire prevention engineering. Provide training assistance as required to enhance the organization's skillset in these domains.Apply risk analysis techniques to identify potential corporate risk exposure and devise pragmatic, cost-effective solutions.Collaborate in conducting surveys of This Company operations conducted by insurance, governmental bodies, and external agencies. Serve as the company's authority on fire prevention engineering standards.Assume a mentoring role, providing guidance and knowledge transfer to fellow LP personnel. Requirements: his role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.Possess a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering.10+ years of industry experience within sectors such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related fields.Showcase five years of dedicated experience in addressing technical safety and fire prevention engineering matters.Professional Engineering licensing/certification/registration in Fire Protection Engineering is highly desirable, as is an advanced degree.Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.Ability to effectively communicate with peers and management.Proficiency in producing clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
