Job Description
- Negotiating rates with worldwide agents and carriers.
- Quoting to customers the offer and following up with them to meet demand and minimize costs & to increase Co. profit share.
- Make reservation between our company, shipping Line, and agents.
- Follow up and review BLs drafts and any additional docs.
- Follow up with tracker & trucking process.
- Manage and follow the customs clearance process activities.
- Responsible for all shipments processes and documentation.
- Make all reports and details involved for shipments.
- Follow up all opened operations, and check about the arrival date for the shipment with shipping line and send arrival notice to the customer.
- Prepare all documents to our customers and deliver to them.
- Update the status of the shipment on the report and keep the client and sales department updated.
- Send a daily and weekly operation report to the responsible Manager.
- Follow up the carrier’s invoices and compare it with our agreed rates.
- Issue payment requests to the accounting department attached with related invoices.
- Receive shipment original documents.
Specific Tasks:
- Securing Space and Booking: Obtaining booking confirmations, securing space on vessels, and booking with agents/shipping lines.
- Follow Up and Tracking: Following up on loading, sailing, and confirming BLs with customers.
- Documentation: Preparing and handling shipping documents, including bills of lading and invoices.
- Rate Negotiation: Negotiating the best rates from agents and shipping lines.
- Customer Communication: Notifying consignees of freight arrival and arranging delivery.
- Relationship Management: Developing and maintaining relationships with carriers, suppliers, and customers.
Job Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in operations, logistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with logistics software, are important.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills are needed to interact with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
- The ability to analyze and solve operational challenges and optimize freight movements is essential.
- Fast learner with a genuine passion for continuous self-improvement.
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations, customs clearance procedures, and trade compliance is vital.
- Ability to understand client needs and propose suitable solutions.
- Quick response time and flexibility in addressing daily challenges.
