Customs Clearance Operations Specialist (for Freight Forwarder)

The Operations Specialist at Egytrans plays a crucial role in handling the daily operational requirements for the company’s clients. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and following up detailed tasks that may be in clearance, trucking planning and follow-up, freight management or other work as agreed with his/her direct manager. As a logistics and freight forwarding company, the Operations Specialist ensures the smooth execution of logistics operations within these services.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day operational requirements including but not limited to clearance tasks, trucking planning and follow-up, issuance or certificates, documentation, and/or freight management.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure timely and accurate execution of logistics operations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies during operational activities.
• Solve operational challenges that arise, implementing effective problem-solving techniques and ensuring prompt resolution.
• Maintain open lines of communication with the customer service team, providing updates on the status of their shipments and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Monitor operational performance metrics, including cost of service, timeliness of service delivery, problem-solving, and customer satisfaction, and take proactive measures to continuously improve performance.
• Collaborate with the Operations/ Branch Manager and other team members to identify areas for operational efficiency and effectiveness, recommending process improvements and implementing best practices.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to operational activities, ensuring proper record-keeping and adherence to internal and external audit requirements.
• Work in compliance with health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
