Job Description
- Design and prepare detailed scaffolding plans, drawings, and calculations for temporary access, support, or protection.
- Review and approve scaffold designs submitted by subcontractors or junior engineers.
- Ensure all scaffolding structures comply with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, BS EN 12811).
- Coordinate with construction, safety, and planning teams to meet project requirements.
- Provide engineering support for scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling activities.
- Perform site inspections to verify scaffolding installations are built as per design and are safe for use.
- Conduct load analysis and stability checks, especially for complex or heavy-duty scaffolds.
- Manage scaffold material estimation and monitor inventory for optimal use.
- Develop method statements, risk assessments, and safety documentation for scaffold works.
- Train and mentor scaffold inspectors, supervisors, and erection crews on best practices and safe procedures.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in scaffolding engineering within large-scale construction, industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of scaffold design standards (e.g., BS EN 12811, OSHA, AS/NZS).
- Proficiency in scaffold design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Smart Scaffolder, Avontus, or similar tools).
- Familiarity with scaffold types: system scaffolds (e.g., Cuplock, Ringlock), tube & fitting, mobile towers, etc.
- Understanding of load classifications, anchoring, bracing, and fall protection systems.
