Job Description

Role Overview

The Risk Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s risk management framework in compliance with FRA (Financial Regulatory Authority) requirements. They will identify, assess, and monitor credit, operational, market, and compliance risks, ensuring Malaz operates with strong internal controls while supporting growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and implement a comprehensive risk management framework aligned with FRA regulations.

Identify, assess, and quantify risks across credit, operational, financial, and compliance areas.

Establish risk policies, limits, and procedures to ensure effective mitigation.

Monitor consumer credit risk portfolios, including delinquency, default, and collection performance.

Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, and portfolio reviews.

Prepare and submit regular risk reports to senior management and the FRA.

Ensure compliance with AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Terrorism Financing) guidelines.

Collaborate with Finance, Credit, Operations, and Legal teams to strengthen risk awareness across departments.

Advise management on new products, business models, and partnerships from a risk perspective.

Lead risk audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or professional certification is a plus – e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM).

Minimum 7–10 years of experience in risk management, preferably in consumer finance, banking, or financial services.

Strong knowledge of FRA regulations, Basel principles, credit risk models, and internal control systems.

Experience with credit scoring, portfolio analysis, and risk-based pricing is highly desirable.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Fluency in Arabic and English.
