Structural BIM Engineer

Responsibilities:

 Modeling and Design Coordination:

• Develop accurate and detailed 3D BIM models for architectural, structural, or MEP disciplines.
• Ensure all BIM models comply with project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate designs from multiple engineering disciplines to detect and resolve clashes.

Shop Drawings Production:

• Prepare detailed and accurate shop drawings for construction, including layouts, sections, and details.
• Review and update shop drawings to reflect project changes or consultant comments.
• Ensure all shop drawings meet technical standards and are approved for execution.

 Clash Detection and Reporting:

• Conduct clash detection and prepare detailed reports using Navisworks or similar tools.
• Collaborate with other team members to resolve detected clashes efficiently.

Documentation and Standards:

• Maintain project documentation, ensuring all models and drawings are filed correctly.
• Ensure all BIM deliverables are compliant with project standards (LOD, naming conventions, etc.).
• Support the development and adherence to company-specific BIM standards and workflows.

Team Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to align designs and models with project goals.
• Assist the site team with any technical clarifications related to BIM models or shop drawings.
• Communicate effectively to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Quality Assurance:

• Perform regular checks on BIM models and shop drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify inconsistencies and errors in designs and suggest practical solutions.

Learning and Development:

• Stay updated on new BIM software features, tools, and industry trends.
• Participate in training sessions or workshops to enhance skills as needed.
   

Preferred Skills:

• Strong technical understanding of construction processes and engineering systems.
• Knowledge of materials and their application in construction.
• Previous experience in MEP coordination or integrated design projects is a plus.
