Job Description
- Planning of production units: Responsible for production planning, material planning, and machinery planning—either directly or by review.
- Style allocation to units (when handling multiple factories): Allocates styles based on available capacity and product category. If in-house capacity is insufficient, he coordinates with other factories for job work.
- Technical setting of the garment: Adjusts the technical aspects of garments to reduce making costs and ensure production-friendly samples.
- Production monitoring: Monitors daily output from each line to ensure production targets are met.
- Factory work study/industrial engineering: Oversees industrial engineering functions and systems.
- Quality of the finished product: Ensures the factory produces high-quality goods with minimal alterations or repairs. Only quality-approved goods are shipped to buyers.
- Shipment planning and dispatch: Coordinates shipment planning in collaboration with the documentation and shipping departments.
- Production floor costing: Monitors manpower costs on each production floor and works to keep them under control.
- Cost reduction in production: Continuously seeks opportunities to minimize production costs and implements necessary changes.
- Worker welfare and personal matters: Handles workers’ personal and welfare-related activities.
- Interdepartmental coordination: Ensures smooth communication and material flow between departments and resolves any interdepartmental issues.
Job Requirements
- BS degree in a related field.
- Must have worked in factories involved in apparel garments production to understand the garment production cycle (from design to pattern making to production techniques to be able to utilize waste and make production cycle short and smooth to end up as a high quality finished garment in-store)
- 10 years of experience in Apparel/ Readymade garments factory is a must in areas of clothing operation or apparel factory management senior position.
- Rich experience in garment production in terms of process, quality, stock management, sales forecast and waste utilization.
- Project management skills.
- Lean Manufacturing.
