Job Description

Job purpose:

Assist the Maintenance Manager with some tasks and will be replacing him during his absence to carry out an efficient daily operation. He will be accountable for receiving the department spare parts and tools from the main store and delivers them to the different departments. Executes and maintains operational policies and standards of the maintenance departments.

What do we expect from you? 

1- Operational:

  • Support the Manager in the preparation of the annual plans and budget including: hiring plan, tools, equipment, materials, uniforms ..etc and seeks the Maintenance manager’s approval
  • Ensure adhering to scheduled activities
  • Adhere to the operational standards and policies of the department and ensure they are being implemented 
  • Execute the monthly/weekly /daily schedules of the preventive maintenance plans and report any variances or delay to the Manager
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled departmental physical inspection 
  • Test regularly all fire detection and fighting systems
  • Manage the department warehouse/ stores and supplies
  • Coordinate the master shifts scheduling plan as well as the annual leaves plan of the department in collaboration with the supervisors to avoid overlaps or gaps
  • Review, on daily basis, all section’s log books and takes corrective actions when necessary. 
  • Coordinates and supervises the work of outside service contractors
  • Ensures all Engineering forms, reports, meeting minutes, training logs and guest comments are forwarded on a timely basis to the manager
  • Conducts and/or attends daily staff meetings, handovers, shift briefings, training and record minutes
  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork 

2- Health and Safety:

  • Enforce the adherence to the HSE policies, procedures and instructions and achieving HSE KPIs
  • Coordinate with the HSE department with regards to:
    • The awareness sessions to the department staff and keep records of training attendance 
    • Recording safety violations, incidents and mitigating actions
  • Works closely with the Health & Safety Department getting the most efficient means of safety and the lowest level of Property Risk factors.  

3- People Management:

  • Lead by example in owning and living KODE values and culture
  • Participate in onboarding the new hires as well as in the ongoing training and development activities 

4- Reporting:

  • Prepare the daily log book
  • Assist the Manager in the monthly report of all departmental maintenance orders for analysis
  • Provide the manager with the monthly schedules, attendance and leaves reports

5- Continuous improvement:

  • Participate in the department discussions of possible improvements and comes up with initiatives to improve the efficiency
  • Recommend changes to work practices and processes that will improve employees and guests’ experience

Job Requirements

What do you need to perform your role?

To perform your job successfully, you need to have the following minimum requirements:

  • Education and experience:
    • Bachelor in engineering preferably electromechanical 
    • Minimum 3 years experience in hospitality and/or facility management services
    • Practical work experience in all areas of the Engineering Department to include Planning and Costing.
  • Skills and knowledge:
    • Speaking, Reading, and Writing knowledge of the English Language 
    • Working knowledge of MS Office
    • Experience using relevant technology and equipment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
    • Pre-planning & Organizational Skills  
    • People oriented
    • High ownership
