Job Description
- Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Technical Office Engineer with a strong background in Low Current (LC) and Low Voltage (LV) systems. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing shop drawings, reviewing tender and IFC (Issued for Construction) packages, and providing support across all project phases from design through execution. This role also involves performing quantity surveying, verifying BoQ items against drawings, and coordinating with design, procurement, and site teams.
- Key Responsibilities:
1- Shop Drawings Development:
Prepare and develop detailed electrical shop drawings for LV and LC systems (e.g., fire alarm, CCTV, access control, structured cabling, etc.) in compliance with project specifications and standards.
Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve any clashes or discrepancies.
2- Review Tender Packages:
Analyze tender documents to identify scope, design intent, and technical requirements.
Evaluate and prepare responses to RFIs and technical clarifications.
3- Review IFC Drawings:
Assess Issued for Construction drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Identify deviations or conflicts and recommend corrective actions.
4- Scope Verification:
Conduct thorough comparisons between Bill of Quantities (BoQ), IFC drawings, and technical specifications to verify scope coverage.
Highlight and report any inconsistencies or omissions.
5- Quantity Surveying:
Perform accurate quantity take-offs and prepare material submittals based on IFC/shop drawings.
Support procurement and cost control teams with technical input on materials and quantities.
6- Design Support:
Provide engineering input and design modifications as necessary during the construction phase.
Support consultants and design teams with value engineering proposals and technical solutions.
7- Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain up-to-date records of technical submittals, drawings, revisions, and approvals.
Generate regular reports on technical progress, outstanding issues, and risks.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in technical office roles, with at least 3 years in a senior capacity.
- Strong expertise in LC and LV systems in large-scale construction projects (Fitout, residential, commercial, or industrial ).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other related software.
- Solid understanding of relevent codes.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
