Job Description
HSE Supervisor:
- Plan, develop, Implement and audit the company HSE management framework and culture in offices, Depots and warehouses.
- Manage all HSE matters within AICT in accordance with corporate, global and regional standards.
- Plan and execute HSE trainings and awareness within AICT.
- Develop documentation based on HSE management framework and periodically review and audit the documentation.
- Conducts, update risk assessments and ensure risk reduction measures are undertaken.
- Investigate and report timely all HSE incidents and ensure incident corrective actions are followed up and closed.
- Track and monitor all new HSE mini projects & ideas implementation on-site in coordination with other departments.
- To provide support to the operation by maintaining a visible presence in site and providing HSE technical support.
- Implement critical control point and specially the visual control points to ensure safe operation on the site and yards.
- Identify, Implement and audit all applicable HSE legislation and applicable standards, to ensure compliance.
- Develop and audit HSE Management Plan in line with the area and region strategy for operation, project to ensure a safe work environment for all site employees, contractors, visitors, and community.
- Ensure maintenance and availability of critical safety equipment and devices in line with law requirement.
- Support the HSE Management team for any other related tasks.
Fire Supervisor:
- Supervise reparation and maintenance of fire protection system (alarm & fighting system), in coordination with related procedures and local & international codes.
- Ensure appliance of Fire strategy, action plan and related procedures.
- Recommend adjustments needed to enhance fire safety strategy.
- Implement and follow fire projects installments and enhancement at the terminal.
- Ensure the fire alarm & fighting system, and emergency equipment is always maintained and ready for emergency cases.
- Implement business continuity plan and ensure life cycle is followed up and BCM audited and updated with BCM committee.
- Lead the and execute the emergency drills, and act as the fire & emergency commander in case of emergency.
- Represent the company AICT in front of the civil defense represented in the Port for civil protection department and other legal authorities.
- Prepare the required annual training plan for fire and emergency awareness.
- Ensuring active and creative attendance in all HSE meetings as applicable.
- Attend as a fire violation reporter in accidents and damage incidents’ investigation committees.
- Develop studies for various fire hazard challenges that could occur within the terminal premises.
- Act as a coordinator between Company and legal authorities represented in the Port for civil protection department.
- Correcting wrong conditions and actions for providing a safe environment for employees in the first priority and for the whole business environment
- Identifying and lead eliminating HSE & fire hazards in the workplace.
- Help in assuring the full compliance with the IMDG code in segregating containers within the Terminal yard.
- Monitors the cases of fire hazards, dangerous cargo & material storage that occurs in the terminal and identifies the course of actions to be executed according to the case.
- Approves the procedures and appropriate PPE for staff.
- Cooperates with the gate members in recommending the PPE for inspecting deferent cargo within CFS.
- Contributes with the HSE team in delegating various emergencies.
- Conducts training sessions and awareness notes for improving the performance in respect to the firefighting and IMO issues and prepares the appropriate training material.
- Observes the provisions of relevant Company policies and procedures.
- Ensures that Company Health, Safety & Environment policy, and procedures are observed as well as all relevant safety legislation and the provisions of Egypt Health and Safety & Environmental Acts.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement process and meeting business objectives. This includes providing suggestions and input to changes and improvements in all policies and procedures.
- Informs superior as soon as possible if any general or specific task cannot be performed adequately or timely due to influences beyond their control.
- Undertakes all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Company Code of Conduct.
Job Requirements
HSE Supervisor:
Academic Qualifications:
- B.Sc. of Engineering, or science.
Years and Field of Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years as HSE Supervisor.
- Consolidated awareness of environmental system and Egyptian regulations.
- Experience in Container terminal is preferred.
Training:
- Governmental safety Certificate is a must.
- NEBOSH IGC certificate is preferred.
- Safety certificate, OSHA certification, or an equivalent is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good command of English Language.
- Detail Oriented, with a well-organized mind.
- Strong time and stress management abilities.
- A team player
Fire & Emergency Supervisor:
- Requires a bachelor's degree of science, engineering or equivalent certificate of fire protection and loss control management (Preferable Electromechanical or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
- Previous experience in Firefighting & alarm system projects is strongly recommended.
- Preferable 2 to 5 years of HSE, Fire and IMO related works.
- Preferable to have a NEBOSH Fire Safety certificate.
- Understand and aware of implementation of the local & international fire codes (Egyptian & NFPA).
- General background on the fire alarm & fighting maintenance plan and management.
