Job Description
- Independently design, develop, and test a variety of paint and coatings formulations based on project requirements and customer needs.
- Apply and evaluate the performance of our company's raw materials (e.g., resins, additives) in various paint systems.
- Conduct thorough testing and analysis of paint properties, including but not limited to viscosity, color, gloss, adhesion, hardness, flexibility, and chemical resistance, using appropriate laboratory equipment and techniques.
- Troubleshoot formulation issues and provide effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, observations, and results.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and application guidelines for internal and external use.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and technical service teams to support customer inquiries and provide technical expertise.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and raw materials in the paint and coatings industry.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and laboratory procedures.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Participate in customer visits and trials as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Coatings Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in paint and coatings formulation is essential.
- Strong understanding of paint chemistry, raw materials, and their impact on coating performance.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques for paint preparation, application, and testing.
- Experience with various paint application methods (e.g., brushing, spraying, rolling).
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, for technical discussions, report writing, and presentations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
