Job Description
- Participates in developing, implementing and evaluating purchasing plans, work processes, systems and procedures to achieve annual goals, objectives.
- Performs or coordinates activities involved with purchasing goods and services such as, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Supervises purchasing Rep. involved in the internal purchase of products for the company at minimal cost, consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications.
- Implements the product cost reduction strategy including savings, resource plans and supplier process improvements.
- Ensuring the implementation of instructions regarding purchasing policies and procedures and directs purchasing programs accordingly.
- Ensures the provision of goods and services that support the achievement of overall business objectives.
- Supervises the selection and ordering of materials, supplies, and services from vendors.
- Verifies of purchase orders, requisitions and associated invoices for equipment purchases.
- Communicates with supplier changes in specifications, change orders, quantities, and adjustments.
- Ensures defective parts are returned to suppliers in line with company procedures.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or any related field.
- 2 to 5 Years of purchasing experience preferably in pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent or Officer
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
- Working experience of vendor management software
- Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills
- Strong leadership capabilities
