Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management System (QMS):
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust QMS that aligns with global food safety standards such as GlobalGAP, BRC, and IFS.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international food safety regulations.
- Conduct regular internal audits and corrective action plans to maintain QMS effectiveness.
- Product Quality:
- Oversee the quality of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.
- Establish and enforce strict quality control standards for fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, as well as concentrated products.
- Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Laboratory Management:
- Manage the quality control laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely testing of products.
- Oversee the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with external laboratories for specialized testing as needed.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance professionals.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and development opportunities to team members.
- Customer Relations:
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Address customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure product quality meets customer expectations.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed of evolving food safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including labeling, traceability, and allergen management.
- Represent the company in regulatory audits and inspections.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Agriculture, or related field.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred.
- 8-12 years of experience in quality assurance management within the food industry, preferably in fresh produce and processing.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP and GMP.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
