Job Description
1. Fleet Maintenance Oversight
Ensure regular preventive and corrective maintenance of all fleet vehicles (buses & limousines).
Develop and manage maintenance schedules to maximize vehicle uptime and safety.
Monitor vehicle condition and performance using diagnostics tools and inspections.
2. Team Management
Supervise a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
Assign daily tasks, provide training, and evaluate staff performance.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
3. Vendor & Parts Management
Source and manage suppliers for spare parts and maintenance services.
Negotiate contracts with external service providers.
Ensure parts inventory is well-stocked and organized.
4. Budgeting & Cost Control
Develop and manage the maintenance budget.
Track maintenance costs and work to reduce unnecessary expenses.
Prepare regular reports on spending, repairs, and fleet efficiency.
5. Compliance & Safety
Ensure all vehicles meet local transport regulations, safety, and emission standards.
Maintain updated records for inspections, repairs, and certifications.
Respond to and investigate vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or safety incidents.
6. Fleet Optimization & Reporting
Analyze fleet data to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
Recommend vehicle replacements or upgrades based on performance and cost-effectiveness.
Report on fleet KPIs, including service intervals, breakdown frequency, and downtime.
7. Emergency Response
Develop contingency plans for vehicle breakdowns or critical failures.
Ensure rapid response procedures are in place to minimize disruption to operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience managing a fleet of heavy and light vehicles (buses, limousines, vans).
- Hands-on knowledge of diagnostic tools, repair procedures, and workshop operations.
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Understanding of regulatory and safety standards related to transportation and vehicle maintenance..
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with drivers, vendors, and senior management.
- Time management and organizational skills to handle scheduling and emergencies.
