Job Description
- Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses.
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Provide safety training to employees on topics such as hazard recognition and emergency response.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws and regulations.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for incidents like accidents, fires, or chemical spills.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and preventive measures.
- Manage and maintain safety equipment and ensure it's in proper working condition.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on safety performance and compliance.
- Analyze incident and injury data to identify trends and improve safety policies.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure safety procedures are followed across operations.
- Ensure proper handling and management of chemical and biological hazards in the production process.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Certifications in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are highly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and hazard analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for training and reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies effectively.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Problem-solving skills to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation purposes.
