Job Description
- The Agricultural Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing agricultural systems and processes to improve farming efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. This includes land preparation, irrigation systems, equipment optimization, and soil management techniques. The role involves both fieldwork and technical planning to support farm operations and agricultural projects.
Evaluate agricultural lands to determine their suitability for specific crops or projects. - Design, implement, and maintain efficient irrigation and drainage systems.
- Monitor soil conditions and provide recommendations for soil improvement and fertilization.
- Develop solutions to improve crop yields, reduce waste, and promote sustainable practices.
- Work with farm machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal selection, maintenance, and use.
- Conduct research and testing to resolve agricultural engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with agronomists, farm managers, and other stakeholders to align on agricultural practices and production goals.
- Analyze data and prepare reports related to crop performance, water usage, and soil quality.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and agricultural standards.
- Provide technical training and support to field teams and farm workers.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience (2+ years) in agricultural engineering or farm systems.
Knowledge of irrigation systems, soil science, and farm equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with agricultural software and technologies (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, sensors).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in field conditions and travel to rural areas as needed.
