Architectural Engineer

Job Summary

Responsible for developing ideas with the client, establishing budgets, assessing the needs of the building and its users, and its impact within the local environment. Assist with site selection and work closely with contractors on site, ensuring that works are carried out to applicable standards and that, above all, the building is sustainable, functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead project from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative and functional design.
• Identify clients’ needs and put together feasibility reports and design proposals.
• Develop ideas keeping in mind clients’ needs, building’s usage, environmental impact, and construct-ability.
• Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
• Consult with client to determine functional and requirements of structure.
• Create building designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) applications.
• Design new buildings, restoring and conserving old buildings and developing new ways of using existing buildings.
• Ensure that all works are carried out to applicable standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations.
• Produce detailed blueprints and make any necessary corrections.
• Conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
• Regular site visits to check on progress, ensuring that the project is running on time and to budget.
• Adapting plans according to circumstances and resolving any problems that may arise during construction.
• Provides mentoring and transfer of knowledge, skills and experience to junior architect.
• Follows company rules and regulations, safety procedures, and Labor laws.
• Follows his immediate supervisor's or a higher levels instruction.
