Job Description
1. Legal Advice and Consultation
- Labor Law Compliance: Provide expert guidance to employers and employees on compliance with Egyptian Labor Law No. 12 of 2003 and Law No. 14 of 2025,
- Work Permits and Immigration: Advise on the legal requirements for foreign workers, who must obtain work permits from the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration.
- Employee Rights.
- Employer Obligations.
2. Work Permits and Immigration Compliance
- Work Permit Applications: Assist employers and foreign employees in preparing and submitting work permit applications to the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration.
- Visa and Residency.
- Specialized Permits.
- Compliance Monitoring.
- Exemptions and Restrictions.
3. Labor Lawsuits and Dispute Resolution
- Representation in Lawsuits: Represent clients in labor disputes, such as wrongful termination, unpaid wages, discrimination, or workplace harassment, before Specialized Labor Courts, which have exclusive jurisdiction over employment-related disputes under the New Labor Law No. 14 of 2025.
4. Contract Drafting and Review
- Employment Contracts: Draft and review employment contracts, which must be in Arabic (bilingual versions allowed), include details like job description, salary, working hours, and contract type (fixed-term or indefinite), and comply with Egyptian Labor Law. Three copies are required: one for the employer, one for the employee, and one for the social insurance office.
- Contract Modifications: Ensure mutual written consent for any changes to contract terms, as unilateral changes are generally not permitted unless explicitly allowed by law.
- Non-Compete and Confidentiality: Include clauses to protect trade secrets and prevent competition, noting that Egypt lacks specific legislation for trade secrets but relies on Commercial Law No. 17/1999 for illegal competition claims.

- Ministry of Manpower and Immigration: Represent clients before the Ministry for work permit issues, labor inspections, or disputes.
- Labor Office: Handle filings or responses to investigations regarding labor law violations or employee complaints.
7. Staying Updated on Legal Changes
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from an accredited institution.
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- 5-7 years of proven experience as a lawyer, preferably within the construction, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of commercial, corporate, and contract law.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Proficiency in legal research and document management.
