Job Description
Purpose:
- To ensure that the Interior Design Section functions for specific project is appropriate and satisfies client and Chenille’s management objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages Interior Design Unit and prepares Interior design project documentation throughout its various phases by continuing and timely communications with the upper management.
- Develop interiors solutions/designs for clients as per agreed upon requirements and ensures the proper management of the design process with great ability to utilize CAD software such as AutoCad, Adobe Photoshop, & 3D StudioMax & Vray.
- Assists in organization of project providing input to concerned managers and others as required: prepares manpower estimates and work schedules; plans interior design activities and documentation requirements.
- Directs and prepares interior design works: development of conceptual and technical design solution; specification of systems and materials; preparation of deliverables (i.e. reports, presentation materials, drawings, technical documents, etc.); manages activities of the Interior Design production Team (IDPT).
- Works with all related disciplines: coordinates with other works and provides input to other disciplines; coordinates interior design activities.
- Conducts timely review and coordination of documents for in-house quality control and submission for milestones progress review.
- Obtains approvals and decisions from the client and informs concerned managers in a timely manner that allows the project to flow smoothly and quickly through the Engineering Department. Alerts concerned managers to any changes of scope, lack of information, or decisions from client that affect schedule, production costs, or quality of work. Assists in incorporating such changes and modify project schedules.
- Monitors the interior design work on a regular basis to ensure compliance with schedule, construction cost, production budget, and technical quality. Assists the IDPT in maintaining project objectives and reports progress to concerned managers.
- Assists the SCEA and the SPEA to assure that project records, data, and documents are properly maintained and stored for future reference.
- Evaluates IDPT member performance when required by management.
Job Requirements
- Senior Interior Designer is an experienced professional who can define and manage Interior Design Section technical work, develop project schedules and a set of tasks to accomplish the work, coordinate and monitor section activities to deliver a quality project on time and within a prescribe man-hour constraint.
- Bachelor Degree in Architecture/Interior Design or Related Discipline.
- Experience in Interior Design: 8 years
- Experience in technical documentation: 3 years
- Must be computer literate, MS Word 6.0, AutoCad, Adobe Photoshop & 3D StudioMax with V.ray.
- Experience in coordinating technical works and MS Project
- Experience in directing the design efforts or others
- Ability to work on and manage a variety of technical task
- Ability to estimate man-hours associated with technical task
- Excellent communication skills.
