Job SummaryProvides technical support for production department by plant performance monitoring, reporting and implementing advanced process control solutions on high level computing application processing platform.Job Purpose & ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all Control Systems are working properly specially for Plants DCS and PIMS Reporting system.Modify Process Control Systems software to improve the effectiveness of process controllability and requirements.Record the plant history and provide information to other sections in a form of trends or sheets to be used as reference for comparison, investigation, modification and trainingTroubleshoots plant process control and instrumentation problems to determine root cause and recommend options for eliminating such problems. Analyzes historical process information and control system interaction, carries out tests on instrumentation systems, contacts manufacturers, if necessary, to seek information, makes recommendations to rectify the instrument or control problems and in carrying out final testing and commissioning. Participates in activities such as RIS, RCA, PHA, PSSR, JSA and other requirements.Perform Reliability improvement study considering the chronic issues, repeated failures and obsolescence.Identify improvement opportunities for plants instrumentation and process control systems with the aim of improving the efficiency, operability, safety, reliability of plants processes. Includes contributing to the development of process control and instrumentation change options and related decision making and making specific recommendations for control system changes.Witness the functional checkout of the unit shutdown system. Includes working with Maintenance personnel to ensure that all instrumentation in the shutdown system is functioning properly and ensuring that the shutdown system is correctly reflected in the shutdown manualImplements replacement in kind for major equipment and for direct purchase request. Prepares tender preparation and processing activities for capital purchase requests. Prepares specification for work, reviews bid submission including general work programs and comments on technical acceptability of bid received.Implements DCS and TRICONEX system configuration implementation changes (point building, graphics, tag points, data base changes, etc.) & train the new Engineers (on job training).Develop CDP for capital projects, review of design package from EPM, execution and project close out support.Maintain the system software's and system back-up.Support the execution of plant MOC (Management of change) including updated document review and project close out.Prepares technical reports and studies as directed by manager Access Meridium to et/u date the required reliability DataMinimum Education/Experience Requirements• B. S. in Electrical, Instrument or Control System Engineering• ISA Certificate is preferred.• Knowledge in RCA, RCM, RIS, SAP & Meridium. 5 years related working experience in petrochemicals plants or refineries Job Specific Skills• DCS.• ESD.• FIELD INSTRUMENTION.
