Accountant - Tax and Financial Reporting

Our mission is to help individuals and SMEs in MENAP manage their money better and meet their financial needs by building the best mobile-first spending account.The Tax and Financial Reporting Specialist will ensure Tweeq's complete tax compliance and deliver accurate, IFRS-compliant financial statements. This role involves proactive tax planning, meticulous financial data management, and insightful reporting to support informed financial decisions.What You’ll Do:Accurate and Timely IFRS-compliant Financial Reporting:Ensure timely completion of quarterly and annual financial statements with no material errors identified by internal review or external auditors.Maintain strong internal controls and data integrity to minimize the risk of errors and fraud.Efficient and Streamlined Financial Operations:Increase efficiency in financial reporting processes and reduce workload for the team.Support successful completion of audits with minimal adjustments.Automate and streamline financial reporting tasks.Tax Compliance & Reporting:Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (WHT, VAT, Zakat, Corporate Income Tax) and adherence to ZATCA regulations.Maintain zero penalties or late filing fees and achieve a 100% accuracy rate on all tax filings.Tax Optimisation & Planning:Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities while minimizing Tweeq's tax burden within legal and ethical boundaries.Implement at least 2 tax optimization strategies within the first year.VAT & E-Invoicing Compliance:Ensure full compliance with VAT regulations and e-invoicing requirements.Ensure 100% of invoices are issued electronically through a compliant e-invoicing system.Effective Communication and Collaboration:Foster clear, concise, and timely communication of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.Build strong working relationships with ZATCA and Ministry of Commerce representatives.Collaborate effectively with various departments (e.g., sales, operations, audit).What We’re Looking For:Technical Accounting Skills:Strong understanding of IFRS and IAS.Experience with closing financial statements under IFRS.Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., ERP system).Communication & Interpersonal Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Arabic is a big plus)Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:Ability to analyze financial data to identify trends and potential risks.Additional Skills:Arabic language skills are a plus.A bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance and/or a professional qualification such as ACCA, CFA, CMA, ACA (ICAEW), CA (ICAP or ICAI).3+ years in the fieldTweeq is committed to building a diverse team and fostering an inclusive culture out of our office in Riyadh.
