About the Job
  • Own quick resolution of faults reported with focus on first time right diagnosis while minimizing field engineer dispatches via continual improvement of remote troubleshooting skills.
  • Guide the technician on site to resolve the fault when a dispatch is required.
  • Provide a clear and precise reason for every outage to help the customer service managers give a clear Root Cause Analysis to their customers.
  • Provide TPM teams with feedback on 3rd party dispatches to help the satellite factory assess their performance and continually improve our dispatch capabilities.
  • Initiate the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) for used faulty parts, providing the exact test procedures which proved the fault for the repair reports to manufacturer.
Job Requirements

Professional Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting VSAT networks (fixed and stabilized antennas).

Educational background:

  • University Degree in telecommunications or related field.
  • CCNA certificate is mandatory.
  • Preferably CCNP certified.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Cisco Routing & switching expertise essential.
  • iDirect networks operation & management expertise.
  • Troubleshoot satellite networks for fixed, mobile and maritime solutions.
  • Troubleshoot satellite networks for manufacturers: Comtech, iDirect, Viasat, Thrane & Thrane, mitech, Orbit, Seatel, C2Sat, Cisco, Avantech, Codan and other manufacturers (depending on the proposed satellite solution to the customers).
  • Troubleshoot for technologies: D-TDMA, DVBS2, PCMA, BGAN, Inmarsat M4, SCPC and other related technologies.
  • Good performer under pressure.
  • Owns perfect multi-tasking capabilities to be able to support multiple engineers on site while remotely troubleshooting other fault reports.
  • Keen to continually learn as satellite technologies rapidly evolve.
  • Customer Oriented Attitude.
  • Ability to work on shift basis.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
