Job Description
- Oversee the technical design and engineering activities related to road projects.
- Develop road design concepts, alignment plans, cross-sections, and pavement designs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations in road design and construction.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and presentations related to road projects.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of road design deliverables.
- Conduct quality inspections and audits to verify compliance with design standards and specifications.
- Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Monitor and address any design-related issues or discrepancies during the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase of road projects.
- Review and evaluate contractor submittals, including shop drawings and material samples.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation in road design and construction.
- Propose and implement new methodologies, tools, and techniques to enhance efficiency and quality in road projects.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the Roads Technical Office.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in road engineering.
- Strong knowledge of road design principles, standards, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in road design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
