Job Description
The Technical Office Manager is responsible for overseeing all technical and engineering activities of the project’s technical office. This role ensures the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of shop drawings, material submittals, and projects documentation. The Technical Office Manager acts as a bridge between design, procurement, O&M and execution teams to ensure seamless coordination and successful project delivery and smooth effective operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements in line with project specifications.
- Supervise and manage the technical office team including engineers, draftsmen, and document controllers.
- Review and approve plans, construction and bid documents and cost estimates.
- Ensure bid packets contain relevant engineering drawings, designs, and specification for of bid document.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and projects stakeholders to resolve design or technical issues.
- Monitor project design progress and ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets.
- Collaborate with procurement and site teams to ensure technical requirements are met.
- Provide technical support to projects teams during projects execution.
- Ensure proper document control and record-keeping in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in value engineering, design coordination meetings, and site inspections as needed.
- Review and verify as-built drawings and ensure compliance with actual site conditions.
- Report on technical progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Energy industry background is a must including ( Substations, Energy Distribution, Power generation, Renewable energy).
- +15 years of experience in technical office roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial position in a well known energy organization.
- PMP is a must.
- MBA holder will be Preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- Strong knowledge of energy engineering principles.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office; knowledge of Primavera or project management software is a must.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid Experience in local and international codes and standards.
