Job Description

Responsible for product costing to monitor cost increases, track cost reductions of existing products, and assist in pricing and margin analysis for new products.

Liaise with:

  • Tax team
  • Legal team
  • Ensure accurate provisioning and maintain schedules accordingly.
  • Review the accuracy of HR provisioning and monthly MIS reports related to HR, Sales & Marketing, Price/Mix, material costs, VOH (Variable Overhead), and FOH (Fixed Overhead), and provide analysis and insights.
  • Assist in budget preparation, including:
  • Sales budgets
  • Materials budgets
  • Conduct new project evaluations and analyze the financial impact of any changes.
  • Review material price variances, material wastage reports, volume and value variances, and variable overhead variances.
  • Ensure completion of monthly closing checklists.
  • Scrutinize the trial balance monthly to ensure financial hygiene and accuracy.
  • Follow up on internal audit issues and ensure compliance.
  • Assist with tax-related tasks including tax declarations, tax audits, and tax inspections.
  • Analyze gross contribution variance, product mix variances, and sales variances by responsible person.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or delegated by the line manager.

Job Requirements

  • BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant study
  • Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role  4-6 years of experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
  • CMA is a PLUS
