Job Description

Job Purpose:

The MEP Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the design, coordination, implementation, and quality control of all MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) for real estate development projects. The role ensures that all MEP installations meet project specifications, budget, and schedule while complying with local codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Coordination:

  • Review and coordinate MEP designs, drawings, and specifications with consultants and contractors.
  • Ensure MEP designs meet project requirements and adhere to local regulations and codes.
  • Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.

Site Supervision & Execution:

  • Supervise MEP contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality and timely installation of MEP systems.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design documents.
  • Provide technical support and resolve any MEP-related issues that arise during construction.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Review material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings for MEP works.
  • Ensure MEP installations comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.

Budget & Cost Control:

  • Monitor MEP project budgets and control costs by reviewing variations and change orders.
  • Assist in preparing MEP cost estimates and BOQs.
  • Work with procurement teams to ensure timely ordering and delivery of MEP materials and equipment.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of MEP activities, inspections, and approvals.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for management and clients.
  • Ensure all MEP as-built drawings and operation & maintenance manuals are properly documented.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in MEP works within the real estate or construction industry.
  • Proven track record in residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments is a plus.
    Strong knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (optional), and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
