Job Description

  • Lead and supervise daily operations within the laboratory section, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory protocols and quality control procedures for confectionery products.
  • Coordinate and oversee the analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Manage, train, and mentor laboratory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and validated according to industry standards.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, quality documentation, and data analysis to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements.
  • Monitor and enforce safety and hygiene standards within the laboratory environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new testing methodologies, and regulatory changes relevant to food safety and quality.
  • Support audits and inspections by internal and external bodies, ensuring laboratory readiness and compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory environment within the food industry, preferably in confectionery or FMCG.
  • Proven experience in leading or supervising laboratory teams.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control, food safety standards, and laboratory best practices.
  • Familiarity with ISO 22000, ISO 9001, HACCP, and other relevant quality management systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze laboratory data and technical reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team leadership.
  • Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to work on-site and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
