Job Description
- Develop and execute treasury strategy including liquidity management, funding, cash flow forecasting, and capital optimization in compliance with Islamic banking principles.
- Manage relationships and negotiations with local and international financial institutions, correspondent banks, and Islamic liquidity providers.
- Oversee treasury operations, including investments, placements, money market transactions, and foreign exchange, ensuring compliance with Sharia law and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with product, risk, compliance, and finance teams to ensure treasury products and activities are aligned with the bank’s digital platform and risk appetite.
- Implement treasury policies, controls, and risk management frameworks, including market, credit, and operational risk related to treasury activities.
- Lead the evaluation and integration of treasury technology solutions to enhance automation, reporting, and digital capabilities.
- Monitor liquidity ratios, regulatory requirements (QCB), and internal limits; prepare reports for senior management and regulators.
- Drive innovation in treasury products and services within the digital and Islamic finance context.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing treasury and FI team suited for a start-up environment.
Job Requirements
- Extensive experience in treasury management within Islamic banking, with a strong understanding of Sharia-compliant treasury products and instruments.
- Proven track record managing relationships with financial institutions, Islamic liquidity pools, and correspondent banks.
- Solid knowledge of treasury operations, liquidity risk management, and regulatory frameworks in Qatar and international markets.
- Familiarity with digital banking platforms, fintech integration, and treasury technology solutions.
- Experience working in start-up or fast-growing digital banking environments, able to adapt and lead in a dynamic context.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex financial operations.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, or related fields; advanced qualifications or certifications in Islamic finance or treasury management are a plus.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic proficiency is advantageous.
