Job Description
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive information security framework aligned with Sharia compliance, regulatory requirements (QCB), and international best practices.
- Lead risk assessments, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and incident response to safeguard the bank’s IT environment.
- Define and enforce security policies, standards, and controls across all digital platforms and IT operations.
- Collaborate closely with IT, product, compliance, risk, and Sharia supervisory teams to ensure security is embedded in product development and operational processes.
- Oversee cybersecurity architecture including network security, endpoint protection, identity and access management, encryption, and data protection.
- Build and lead an agile InfoSec team to support the evolving security needs of a fast-growing digital bank start-up.
- Manage relationships with external security vendors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Promote security awareness and training programs across the organization.
- Monitor emerging security threats and technologies, recommending innovations to enhance the bank’s security posture.
- Lead compliance with relevant regulations including Qatar Central Bank cybersecurity requirements and Islamic finance governance.
Job Requirements
- Strong background in information security leadership within Islamic banking or financial services, with practical understanding of Sharia-compliant product security requirements.
- Proven experience securing digital banking platforms, fintech environments, or start-up technology infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS), threat management, and regulatory compliance in Qatar and globally.
- Hands-on experience with cloud security, application security, identity management, and data privacy.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, IT, risk, and compliance teams to integrate security by design.
- Start-up mentality with agility, innovation focus, and ability to build scalable security programs from the ground up.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related fields; advanced degrees or specialized Islamic finance certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency in English required; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
