Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will oversee the procurement of mechanical equipment, materials, and services, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgetary requirements.
Location: Alexandria Head Office
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Sourcing & Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for mechanical systems and components required for construction projects.
- Develop strong relationships with reliable vendors to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
- Procurement Operations:
- Issue RFQs (Request for Quotations), review supplier bids, and negotiate terms and pricing.
- Prepare purchase orders and track delivery schedules to meet project requirements.
- Technical Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and design teams to ensure procurement aligns with mechanical specifications.
- Review technical documents to verify supplier compliance with project standards.
- Cost & Budget Management:
- Conduct cost analysis and identify potential savings opportunities without compromising quality.
- Manage procurement budgets and provide periodic updates on expenses.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure adherence to company policies, construction standards, and regulatory requirements during the procurement process.
- Maintain comprehensive procurement records and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Delivery & Quality Assurance:
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
- Address any discrepancies or quality issues with procured items promptly.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of experience in procurement in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and materials used in construction projects.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes and market dynamics.
