Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of annual cultivation plans in coordination with the Agricultural Operations Department.
- Prepare economic feasibility studies for different crops, including operational costs and agricultural practices, in comparison with marketing opportunities and available markets.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Projects Department to meet agricultural water needs and develop irrigation projects.
- Prepare monthly technical reports on project status, including soil quality, tree conditions, crop health, and estimated material requirements.
- Monitor tree health and productivity, taking appropriate action in response to any diseases or agricultural issues.
- Ensure the availability of essential equipment, such as spraying machines, by coordinating with suppliers or arranging rentals.
- Oversee the receipt and distribution of fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural equipment.
- Supervise and follow up on agricultural programs (irrigation, fertilization, pruning, biological and chemical pest control).
- Manage and supervise the agricultural team, including engineers, technicians, and laborers, ensuring efficient task distribution and workflow.
- Ensure compliance with agricultural quality and safety standards.
- Monitor harvesting and packing operations in coordination with the Post-Harvest Management Department.
- Prepare periodic reports on productivity, technical challenges, and improvement suggestions.
- Coordinate with the Procurement Department to ensure timely availability of agricultural supplies.
- Contribute to soil and crop development and improvement plans.
- Have full oversight of agricultural operations in orchards (fruit trees such as mango, date palms, citrus, etc.).
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture (specializing in Horticulture, Plant Production, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in managing orchards or fruit tree farms.
- Strong skills in planning and team management.
- Up-to-date knowledge of irrigation, fertilization systems, and pest control.
- Proficiency in using computers and agricultural management software.
- Excellent communication skills and sound decision-making abilities.
