Job Description

Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation is seeking to hire a highly experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to oversee the day-to-day purchasing activities of our institute. This role will focus on sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a practical understanding of procurement processes, and a commitment to building efficient supplier relationships.

  • Develop and implement practical, cost-effective procurement strategies.
  • Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors for goods and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to ensure favorable pricing and conditions.
  • Review and manage supplier contracts to ensure ongoing feasibility and value.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
  • Approve purchase orders and coordinate delivery schedules.
  • Perform risk assessments on potential suppliers and agreements.
  • Monitor and control the procurement budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee procurement-related IT systems, including inventory and shipment tracking.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement reports and documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 10 - 12 years of experience in procurement or a related role.
  • Full knowledge of Law 182 for 2018 and its application in procurement processes.
  • Proven experience managing supply chain operations.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP procurement modules and functionalities.
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or Envision.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Management and leadership skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
