Job Description
The Preparation Engineer is responsible for overseeing the pre-mix and syrup preparation systems in a CSD glass bottle production line, ensuring optimal performance, hygiene, and compliance with Krones specifications. This role bridges the gap between process engineering, quality assurance, and production readiness, with a strong emphasis on food safety standards and line efficiency and will be reported to production manager.
Preparation Leader responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the syrup preparation process, including sugar dissolving, mixing, deaeration, and carbonation stages.
- Operate and maintain Krones Premix systems, ensuring accurate blending and CO₂ dosing.
- Monitor and calibrate flow meters, temperature sensors, and pressure gauges to maintain recipe integrity.
- Develop and implement CIP (Clean-in-Place) protocols for preparation of tanks and pipelines in compliance with HACCP and ISO standards.
- Collaborate with filling and packaging teams to ensure synchronized batch readiness and minimal downtime.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all preparation activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis for any deviations in product quality or process parameters.
- Coordinate with utilities and maintenance teams for steam, chilled water, and compress air supply to preparation systems.
- Support commissioning and validation of new equipment or upgrades, especially Krones-integrated systems.
- Ensure traceability and documentation of batch records, ingredient usage, and cleaning logs.
Job Requirements
Key skills and experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in food technology, Chemical or agricultural Engineering.
- +8 years of experience in beverage preparation, preferably on Krones CSD glass lines.
- Strong understanding of carbonated beverage formulation, mixing ratios, and CO₂ solubility.
- Familiarity with Krones automation platforms (e.g., HMI, PLC interfaces).
- Experience with food-grade utilities and hygienic design principles.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in process control systems and recipe management software.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and other food safety frameworks.
