Job Description

EHR Trainers work to develop and deliver training related to the implementation and support for the Health Center information systems. EHR Trainers possess and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of and skill in areas of healthcare applications, technology, and/or education as evidenced by experience in providing training in health information systems. They conduct needs and skills assessments for end users to determine the type and duration of training needed, develop training documentation and outlines, and deliver training to end-users with varying levels of computer literacy and in a range of clinical modules/applications. They must have the ability to understand healthcare software, explain technical concepts to non-technical professionals, and to translate administrative and operating requirements into clear, specific, and actionable curricula and then implement and teach those curricula

  • Works on implementing electronic health record (EHR) software, customizing databases as seen needed by practices/clinics. 
  • Work with EHR technical team as needed on different implementations to support and maintain the delivery of service. 
  • Reviews all existing training material, identify areas in which material is insufficient, enhance existing material and when applicable create new material and tools to meet the needs of the practices and staff. 
  • Develops and prepares effective training aids including presentations and handouts. 
  • Provides clinical systems remedial support and training as needed or requested by staff or management. 
  • Generates and maintains reports of all training activities including but not limited to metrics on training schedules, attendance records, assessment of training, and tracking of trainee progress and evaluations by trainees. 
  • Identifies technical and user behavioral performance issues and works with key staff to find and implement solutions. 
  • Communicates effectively with managers and staff across sites and departments to become familiar with all positions/roles/workflows to maintain a relevant clinical system training curriculum for all employees. 
  • Evaluates and demonstrates the effectiveness of training programs and training strategies. 
  • Participates in other training activities as assigned. 

Job Requirements

  • Training personnel on an electronic healthcare record and related software. (Preferred).
  • Bachelors or better in Computer science or related field.
  • Bachelors or better in Pharmacy/ Physical Therapy/ Dentistry/ Medicine or related field.
  • Fluent in English
