Job Description
Overall Purpose: The Senior Procurement Specialist / Engineer should effectively manage end to end procurement process, negotiate with suppliers, maintain quality, and meet the company’s operational and financial goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers and goods according to the business requirements and criteria, requesting RFQ, RFI, RFP, negotiating prices, negotiating purchase terms & conditions, pricing agreements, reviewing contracts, creating POs in ERP systems.
- Analyze market trends, vendor performance, cost structures, short, medium and long term requirements and lead times.
- Negotiate favorable terms and prices with suppliers while maintaining strong relationships.
- Manage budgets, cut and control costs, and understand procurement financials.
- Make quick decisions to solve supply chain disruptions and delays, solve complex procurement challenges, mitigate risks, and make data-driven decisions to optimize the procurement process.
- Manage multiple projects and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain an excellent relationship with all vendors, suppliers and stakeholders as well as conduct a continues market research to support future procurement needs and monitoring market trends and industry developments.
- Negotiate and follow up with suppliers to fulfill the business requirements at best outcome, optimizing time, cost, quantity, quality ...etc.
- Collaborate closely with all stakeholders and departments to ensure the procurement accuracy and fulfillment on-time while optimizing inventory levels, managing changes in requirements, highlight risks and opportunities and proactively address any issues.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Procurement, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Planning and Inventor Management (CPIM) are often preferred.
- Experience in the glass processing industry or manufacturing environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of raw materials, equipment and production processes.
- From 5-9 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing.
- Proven experience in managing supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement strategies for large-scale operations.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills for managing suppliers and ensuring favorable terms.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in purchasing orders and contracts.
- Project Management: Experience in managing procurement projects and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing market trends, vendor performance, cost structures, short, medium and long term requirements and lead times.
- Financial Acumen: Ability to manage budgets, cut and control costs, and understand procurement financials.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft).
- Proficiency in financial analysis related to procurement and cost control, ability to forecast procurement costs, and analyze supplier performance.
