Job Description
- Develop and execute production plans that align with customer demand, inventory levels, and delivery schedules •
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement •
- Ensure that products meet or exceed quality standards. Implement and monitor quality control processes and standards to minimize defects and rework •
- Efficiently allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets while controlling costs •
- Continuously improve production processes to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput •
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe work environment. Investigate and report accidents or incidents promptly •
- Oversee inventory control processes to minimize stock outs and excess inventory while optimizing inventory turnover •
- Manage and adhere to production budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing cost control measures •
- Lead and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce lead times •
- Generate regular reports on production metrics, including output, quality, and efficiency. Provide insights and recommendations for improvement •
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards
Job Requirements
- Proven +15 years’ experience as a Production Manager in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5-7 years of progressive Dies and Sheetmetal Industry experience •
- Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts •
- Proven experience as production director and Deep knowledge of production management • Proficient in MS Office and ERP software •
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations •
- Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free •
- Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime •
- Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations •
- Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to production staff •
- Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production •
- Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team •
- Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality •
- Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff •
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics •
- Outstanding communication ability •
- Excellent organizational and leaderships skills •
- Attention to detail •
- Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach •
- BSc/Ba in business administration or relevant field is preferred
