Job Description
The Tele Collection Officer is responsible for following up on overdue accounts through phone communication, negotiating repayment terms with customers, and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding debts. The role focuses on maximizing debt collection while maintaining professionalism, compliance with regulations, and positive customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Contact delinquent customers via phone calls to remind them of outstanding payments and negotiate repayment plans.
- Handle a high volume of outbound and inbound collection calls daily.
- Educate customers on repayment obligations and company policies.
- Record all customer interactions and agreements accurately in the system.
- Follow approved scripts and guidelines to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Escalate complex or unresolved cases to senior officers or legal departments when necessary.
- Work closely with the collections team to achieve individual and team recovery targets.
- Provide timely feedback and regular updates on account status and collection progress to management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in tele-collections, customer service, or call center roles.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy.
- Good data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Resilient, target-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
