Job Description
- Lead the PLC & automation section within the technical office, ensuring delivery of accurate and high-quality engineering outputs.
- Review and approve control system designs, PLC programming, and automation architecture.
- Ensure compliance with Fire & Gas standards, safety requirements, and international codes across all project deliverables.
- Supervise the preparation of engineering documents, technical drawings, I/O lists, cause & effect diagrams, and system specifications.
- Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical engineering disciplines to align automation solutions with overall project design.
- Provide technical support during project execution phases including installation, FAT, SAT, testing, and commissioning.
- Evaluate and approve technical submissions from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Support project managers in resolving automation-related issues and mitigating project risks.
- Drive innovation and recommend advanced automation solutions to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability in oil & gas operations.
- Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to junior and senior automation engineers in the team.
- Ensure documentation and deliverables are prepared in line with project schedules and client requirements.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry best practices in automation and control systems.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control, or Automation Engineering.
- 3 to 6 years of professional experience in PLC & automation systems, with at least 1 years in oil & gas projects.
- Strong expertise in PLC programming and integration (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider).
- Solid knowledge of SCADA/DCS systems and Fire & Gas integration.
- Proven experience in automation system design, architecture development, and engineering deliverables.
- Strong track record in supervising technical teams and managing engineering activities.
- Hands-on experience with project execution phases: design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes (IEC, NFPA, ISA, API).
- Proficiency in automation engineering software tools and project documentation systems.
- Strong background in technical review, vendor evaluation, and project coordination.
