Job Description
- Lead, direct, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures by the maintenance team.
- Develop preventive maintenance plans and schedules for all equipment and systems.
- Oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance plans and ensure they are performed on time.
- Manage and direct remedial maintenance (repairs) when malfunctions occur.
- Identify spare parts required for maintenance and manage their inventory in coordination with the purchasing department.
- Coordinate with the production and quality departments and plan the scheduling of maintenance activities to minimize their impact on production.
- Prepare and track the maintenance department's budget, control maintenance and spare parts costs.
- Analyze malfunction data and identify the root causes of recurring problems.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Ensure full compliance with all occupational health and safety procedures during maintenance work.
- Conduct risk assessments related to maintenance activities and develop control plans.
- Ensure that the maintenance team uses personal protective equipment correctly.
- Prepare periodic reports on the maintenance department's performance, downtime, maintenance costs, and equipment condition.
- Provide recommendations to senior management regarding necessary investments in equipment or maintenance systems.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering field.
Advanced studies (Master's) preferred.
At least 10 years of experience in the food industry, dairy sector is a must.
Strong experience in planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance.
In-depth knowledge of dairy production equipment and processes (e.g., pasteurization, homogenization, packaging, sterilization).
Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety procedures in an industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of automated control systems and electrical and mechanical systems.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and direct a team.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
Problem-solving and risk analysis skills.
Organizational and time management skills.
