Material Engineer – ProcurementWe are seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer with expertise in civil materials to oversee the evaluation and inspection of material grades and quality during delivery to construction sites. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that procured materials meet project specifications, industry standards, and company quality expectations.Material Procurement Collaborate with project teams to identify material requirements based on project specifications. Identify, evaluate, and determine material grade and quality of civil materials delivered by suppliers to ensure materials are received as per the purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of high-quality civil materials.Quality Assurance And Inspection Inspect materials upon delivery to the site, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations. Perform detailed checks on material grades, certifications, and accompanying documentation. Identify and document discrepancies or substandard materials, escalating issues for resolution.Vendor Management Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Conduct regular audits of supplier quality processes and facilities to ensure adherence to quality expectations.Compliance And Standards Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to civil materials. Ensure all procured materials align with health, safety, and environmental standards. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the construction, procurement, and project management teams to coordinate material deliveries and resolve quality issues. Provide technical guidance on material selection and usage for projects. Employee Job Descriptions - United Arab Emirates Qualifications and Skills:Qualification And Skills Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Material Science, or a related field. Proven experience in procurement, inspection, or quality control of civil materials in construction projects.Technical Skills Deep understanding of civil material properties, grades, and quality standards. Proficiency in MS Office, procurement software, and ERP Soft Skills: Detail-oriented and proactive approach to quality assurance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):Preferred Certifications Certification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is an advantage.
