Job Description

The Retail IT Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between IT solutions and retail business goals. This involves analysing business processes, workflows, and customer interactions to identify areas where technology can enhance efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and drive sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both retail operations and information technology, with a proven track record of implementing technology solutions that align with business strategies.Key Responsibilities:Project Delivery: Play an active role in the delivery of various store-related IT projects, from conceptualization through to implementation, ensuring they align with business requirements and goals.Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders across the retail and IT departments to identify and define business requirements for new technology implementations and enhancements to existing systems.Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyse data related to retail operations to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvements. Generate and maintain reports on project progress, insights, and outcomes.Business Process Improvement: Utilize IT solutions to enhance business processes, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Recommend system modifications and enhancements to improve retail operations.Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with IT retail projects and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the IT department and business units, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Present complex information to non-technical stakeholders in an accessible manner.Training and Support: Develop and provide training materials and sessions for users on new systems and features. Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for retail operations systems.Project management: Understanding the project management principles and methodologies like Agile, Scrum and WaterfallTechnical Integration: Ability to lead and work with partners and provide direction on technical aspects of integrations.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, related field. Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst within the retail sector. Strong understanding of retail operations and experience working on retail IT projects. Proficiency in analysing data and translating business requirements into technical specifications. Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello). Solid process mapping skills detailing AS/IS and TO/BE Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to project delivery. Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems
