Senior Engineer, Business Planning

Job Purpose: Support company performance through leading the: strategic planning, business strategy implementation, contract and agreement management, legal case, internal and external communication, operation management system, business case/ cost evaluation, netback review, risk management and value creation. To develop contracts and memorandum of understanding such as purchase contracts, supply contracts for major feed stocks and supplies and ensure that all are as per SABIC and company policies and procedures. Key Accountabilities: · Provide economical, technical and other analysis with the use of modelling and simulations for but not limited to new products, new investments, projects and MOCs.· Research market conditions in local, regional, national and international areas to determine trends and short-term and long term price and market forecasts· Define project requirements by identifying key deliverables, phases and acceptance criteria and translate those requirements into deliverables. Provides inputs and support for manufacturing technology improvements, long-term technology assessment, capital project technology and competitive technology assessment.· Review and consult in PIR (Post Investment Review)· Develop database on market trends applicable to company products, feedstock, and related commodities, the prices, demand, market shares, distribution and logistics costs· Evaluate and propose business models for all business opportunities· Develop Turnaround strategy and plant shutdown prioritization· Develop an analysis indicating the forecasted contribution margin for all the products including all the differentiated grades· Develop an analysis indicating the best feedstock allocation based on the downstream profitability· Develop a report indicating the best MAN for all products based on the market condition and production cost· Maximize grade mix optimization· Review the CMA & ICIS price forecast, distribution expenses for different marketing regions and develop monthly netbacks for Chemicals and Polymers and compare it with the actual netback· Define and Monitors and tracks status for all existing contracts and proposes modifications (if necessary) during contract renegotiation;· Develops terms and conditions, participate in negotiation and closing, extend and renegotiate contracts for feed/ supply/ synergy contracts in coordination with SABIC Legal.· Coordinates changes in procedures and policies e.g. MAN etc. with Legal & SBU for compliance with local and international laws· Involve relevant SABIC entity for price negotiation in line with SABIC guideline· Review and analyze the monthly netback and any netback adjustment and develop a mitigation plan to reduce any netback adjustments if needed· Monitor and control assigned OMS and ensure achieving its KPl's· Review, monitor and action all risks assigned to planning and business development in company risk register· Drive Risk Management and Business continuity to achieve its objectives· Ensure the compliance with SABIC overall ERM & BCM· Review all the lesson learnt in the ERM & BCM Business continuity with any similar risk mitigation processes· Support documentation and provide updates as required to SABIC Legal Team and Anti-Dumping investigators· Review the documents received from RM/Chemical suppers, utility providers and share the necessary supporting docs for the Anti-Dumping investigation · Facilitate all the requested data after a cross verification with the data provider · Attend the Anti-Dumping Meeting with the Country appointed Anti-Dumping investigators Requirements: Bachelor degree in chemical engineering or equivalent with Minimum 8 years’ experience
