Senior Customs Clearance Specialist

1.  Follow up on daily clearance activities at customs and ports, and works to clear goods in a timely manner without delay, in order to avoid paying fines.

2.  Expediting/routine follow up on status of goods to ensure that suppliers meet delivery promises.

3.  Tracking of incoming shipments

4.  Oversee the overall assignments of the Airfreight and Sea freight Customs Clearance Agents To ensure the clearing of good from the Customs within the shortest possible time.

5.  Receive and verify necessary clearing documents from Foreign Suppliers To ensure that Customs Duty Exemption is obtained and applied for all applicable items.

6.  Follow-up with the Customs Brokers for clearance of imported items within the shortest possible time and/or the agreed time frame.

7.  Request and get approval for payment of Customs Duty on non-exempted items. Forward the advance payment requests to Accounts for releasing the cheque.

8.  Receive invoices from Custom Broker, analyze and get approval for payment from the Accounts Manager and passing it to Accounts.

9.  Follow up of customs duty refund claims from Customs authorities.

10. Follow up for the clearance of undertakings given related to imported materials clearance and keep proper records for all pending cases.

11. Prepare all documents for export shipments.

12. Observe all changes related to customs duty exemptions, tariff, etc., and act accordingly.

13. Prepare all the documents required to complete the forms of each shipment and send them to the banks with any official letters and any other authorizations.

14. Review custom items for each shipment and apply international agreements to reduce customs fees.

15. Send the release plan to the warehouse management on a daily basis with the position of all shipments ready for release, mentioning the final release and the shipments under release.
