Job Description

  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
  • Supervise food prep and cooking
  • Check food plating and temperature
  • Establish portion sizes
  • Schedule kitchen staff shifts
  • Price menu items in collaboration with the Restaurant Manager
  • Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed
  • Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
  • Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
  • Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area

Job Requirements

 

 Education:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.

Food safety certification (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe) is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.

Previous experience in fast-paced restaurants or large-scale kitchens is preferred.

 Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.

Proficiency in inventory management, food costing, and waste control.

Familiarity with different cooking techniques and menu development.

Experience with POS systems and kitchen management software is an advantage.
