Job Description
- Devise and establish/Review the company's quality procedures, standards and specifications
- Review customer requirements and make sure they are met
- Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
- Make sure that manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards
- Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency
- Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
- Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures
- Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports
- Review existing policies and make suggestions for changes and improvements and how to implement them
- Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements
- Assess the effectiveness of changes made
- Use relevant quality tools and make sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the business
- Make sure the company is working as effectively as possible to keep up with competitors
- Train and manage a team of quality control technicians.
- Implement and maintain a corporate environmental and occupational health and safety management system.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures as well as external audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance of environmental and safety control for company manufacturing, packaging, and storage facilities
- Provide robust and timely audit activities across the company, including procedural, process and product audits.
- To liaise with principals, suppliers and contracted manufacturers overall issues of product compliance.
- Ensure a performance management process in line with company policy, is performed throughout the quality department.
- Manage the review and approval of qualification/validation protocols and qualification/validation reports.
- Act as the first point of contact for quality activities across the manufacturing facility.
- Provide a lead in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Job Requirements
- 5 – 10 years of experience in a similar position.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or medical industry related qualifications, MBA - is a plus.
