Job Description
The Medical Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment. The role involves working closely with healthcare professionals, equipment manufacturers, and hospital administrators to ensure that all medical devices are operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning:
Set up and install new medical equipment at healthcare facilities.
Ensure proper functionality through initial testing and calibration.
Preventive Maintenance:
Conduct scheduled maintenance to prevent equipment failures.
Maintain accurate records of servicing and repairs.
Repairs & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair faults in medical devices (e.g., ventilators, ECG machines, defibrillators, imaging systems).
Respond to urgent repair requests and minimize equipment downtime.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all equipment complies with medical safety standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA, CE).
Perform electrical safety and performance checks.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed service logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
Communicate findings and service updates to relevant stakeholders.
Training & Support:
Train hospital staff on proper equipment use and care.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting advice.
Vendor & Spare Parts Management:
Coordinate with equipment manufacturers for warranty services.
Manage spare parts inventory and order replacements as needed.
Job Requirements
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of medical devices and diagnostic equipment.
Proficient in electronics, instrumentation, and systems troubleshooting.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
