Job Description
- Collaborate with design teams to develop detailed technical plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications for construction and implementation.
- Research, source, and recommend materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment that align with design intent, quality standards, and budget constraints.
- Develop detailed technical specifications, including materials, dimensions, construction methods, and installation instructions.
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to procure materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts, obtain quotes, and ensure adherence to specifications and timelines.
- Review and provide timely, comprehensive responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) received from site engineers, addressing technical queries, providing necessary clarifications, and ensuring accurate guidance for smooth project execution.
- Work in collaboration with project managers to ensure that technical aspects of projects adhere to allocated budgets.
- Identify cost-effective solutions without compromising design quality.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify that the implementation of designs aligns with the intended design specifications, ensuring adherence to technical requirements, quality standards, and design intent.
- Work closely with contractors on-site to identify and troubleshoot technical issues or challenges, providing expert guidance and solutions to ensure smooth execution and resolution of problems encountered during the construction phase.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience of 7 to 9 years as a Technical Designer with a portfolio showcasing successful projects.
- Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D rendering tools.
- Strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and industry regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
