Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive project budgets and cash flow projections, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and resource allocation
- Oversee and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, cost savings, and potential revenue enhancements
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and project financial performance reports
- Manage and monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely collection of receivables, prompt payment of payables, and adherence to credit policies
- Provide financial guidance and support to project managers, senior management, and other departments
- Conduct regular financial audits and reviews to identify potential risks, ensure financial integrity, and maintain compliance
- Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and construction-specific financial regulations
- Monitor and analyze project costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying variances from budgets and implementing corrective actions
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including project feasibility studies, investment evaluations, and financing options
- Oversee the financial aspects of contract negotiations and ensure compliance with contractual terms
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial control systems and risk management strategies
- Mentor and train junior finance staff, fostering their professional development and contributing to a strong finance team
Financial Institutions Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with banks, factoring companies, and leasing companies to secure favorable financing terms and conditions.
- Negotiate and manage credit facilities, lines of credit, and other financing arrangements.
- Provide financial information and documentation to financial institutions to support loan applications and renewals.
- Maintain open communication with financial institutions to address any concerns or questions.
- Monitor and manage financial covenants and reporting requirements for existing financing arrangements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- +12 years experience (with 5+ years of experience in financial management preferably in construction industry)
- Familiarity with construction project management processes and terminology
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis tools
- Proven expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and standards (CFA is a plus)
- Proficient in financial software (such as SAP) and other accounting programs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A team player with the ability to motivate and lead others
