ROLE SUMMARY & JOB PURPOSE  

 

FOUNDING TEACHER OF NATIONAL STUDIES

 

Reporting to the founding KS3 Coordinator, we are seeking an outstanding, committed and energetic founding Arabic Teacher to join King’s School The Crown to start in August 2023. The candidate must be a team player and must have a passion to achieve the highest levels of learning and a culture of excellence for themselves and their students.

Job Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Although this list is not exhaustive, the position holder will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Working in collaboration with colleagues across subjects and educational phases to develop a current, dynamic and differentiated syllabus.
  • Teaching timetabled lessons, ensuring that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meets the varying learning and social needs of learners, and adheres to school requirements.
  • Maintaining the positive ethos of the school and value, inside and outside of the classroom at all times.
  • Contribute to the constructive team building amongst teachers and non-teaching staff, parents and senior staff.
  • Maintaining an excellent and demonstrable standard in teaching their subject of expertise.
  • Contributing to the wider school curriculum, supporting development of policy and practice inside and outside the classroom.
  • Supporting King’s School marketing activities, which may include occasional requirement for attendance outside the normal working hours, upon reasonable request from the Executive Head.

  • Adaptable teaching style incorporating feedback
  • A depth of understanding in the relevant subject area
  • Ability to judge learning effectiveness
  • Excellent preparation and planning
  • Assessment of student outcomes and feedback to enhance performance
  • Genuine care and attention for the highest standards of student welfare
Skills and previous experience
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience with pupils in Upper Primary and Lower Secondary years (Year 5- 10)
  • Confidence with use of ICT in teaching
  • Fluency in English and Arabic at an academic standard
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 2 to 3 age children in the Egyptian National curriculum framework
  • Knowledge and understanding of theory and practice for meeting the learning needs of the students
  • Experience in delivering the UK Primary and Secondary curriculum and framework
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience in Arabic National Studies with diverse teaching methods
  • Ability to teach GCSE and/or O level will be an advantage.

 

Qualifications and Accreditations
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area.
  • PGCE qualification, or national equivalent and licensed school age teacher (Egyptian employment law)
  • Demonstrable relevant CPD showing up-to-date skills and subject knowledge of teaching practice
  • In depth knowledge and experience in the Upper Primary and Lower Secondary framework
  • Higher level, postgraduate qualification in education or relevant field
  • Experience and/or qualification in delivering a programme of study in Social Studies within an Arabic language medium student body
